Water Regularly
Lawns need 1 inch of water weekly. Water early in the morning, before sunrise, and water deeply and less often rathe than shallow and more often.
Mow High and often
You should remove less than one-third of a blade of grass to avoid stressing it. This may mean that you need to cut your grass every four to five days instead of once a week. As the summer goes along, move your mower blade up. The longer the grass, the more water conservation, less weeds, and the greener your grass will stay.
Fertilize
Lawns need to be fed three to four times a year. Fertilize in the morning while the ground is still a little damp.
Control Weeds
Weeds compete with desirable turf for nutrients, light, space, and water. In the early spring, apply a pre emergent herbicide to prevent weed seeds from germinating.
